In Chapter 8, Taryn and I had to find the confidence intervals for P/E ratios for the largest companies in the US. We had the confidence intervals of 90%, 95%, and 99%. For a confidence interval of 90% we found that the population mean of the P/E values of a company is between the values of 19.27 and 31.09. For the 95% confidence interval we found that the population mean of P/E values of all US companies is between 20.83 and 29.53. Then finally for the highest confidence level of 99% we found that the population mean of the P/E ratios is between the values of 17.1 and 32.75.
